  • funky concepts continue… FCC

    a picture of mt dulcimers

scroll down a LONG time to audio nirvana’s cast 3 inch speakers

Imagine along with me that the  dulcimer is only a shape of the speaker but that it still function like that of something between a cello and a viola both noted for the sounds of voice and their sweet tones.  the strip pegs are for the powering amplifier’s tubes and the finger/string board uses not strings but wires positing and negative  signal and output to the speaker.  any further circuitry must be hidden close  within a backing/mounting board  as of yet I don’t know the power of two of these smaller speaker for moving air volume so as to determine if they’re loud enough single speaker dual speaker to actually do the job.

it’s worth noting that a luthier can produce such a thing for a bargain.  the ideal placement of such a chunk of a speaker is odious in that  it isn’t possible to let the dulcimer cabinet be an actual instrument crating the sound but just a pretty box of a speaker with internal quides to direct sound out.

you already have from my previous blog an idea of powered rear satelites one being a vintage am radio and the other a victrola look turntable both being functional as such.

    =

the subwoofer also presents a bit of difficulty making it both placeable  but also useful furniture.

    http://www.performing-musician.com/pm/apr09/images/DIYP plus it’s power meAcabs_05.jpg

this is a picture of a piesafe.  that allows the physical size to contain a speaker plus it’s power mechanics… and duh… lol pies! ;)   because idiosynchratic or not the furniture is what it is or such defeats the point of it’s shape.  …

so you will see four channels or powered separately devices. and this allows for a bit more ease in arranging for placement with the tradeoff of making sure to dial each in… which is at le and don’t mind if no one supports the original,,ast allowed for in matching the same types of amplified signals through the same speaker types.  this also allows each unit to be sold piecemail if such a thing called broke occurs. sell one – pawn sale the rest.  it thus isn’t my problem or heartache if as is want to happen people smugly try to fuck you out of one thing invalidating the value of the rest and forcing a firesale because it isn’t a collection.   such is allowed for in the beginning.  peace for me.

Driving this is a signal mnaker known as a transport or DAC digital analogue converter.

this is as close to a silver finish Oppo Bdp 103 play it all true quality machine with a usb interface to manage one’s computer lib rary at hi–fi reproduction as it takes over.  this machine cost a veritable fortune but such is the nature of hi fi it can be  pricy to get great sound and pictures.

    now for the actual stereo.

a tube amplifier running good speakers…. separately or combining with the above rigamorale for movie night.

why silver? why not. some matching is allowed.

interco  nnecting high fidelity equipment is?  a great time to greet the high quality cords.

    masking this is?

while this isn’t exactly it it’s  ;not hard to envision some wall art to hide speaker and wiring chases and what is actually behind crown moulding ….for ceilings… which is a LOT of space to move wiring around a room…. if done right crown molding is allowed everywhere with landlord approval… it adds 25 bucks a month to rent and you want it you pay for it… landlords win twice.
