computery crap
I failed as I said in the last blog to get after blank media at a supply and price I was after. I also flunked getting hold of a linux book I wanted to ignore…. oh well. the truth is I’m glad i came home and this nor any ditro of my searches is fast enough to run stably on this machine basic web surfing and that means multimedia…and boring normal junk like not greying out trying to post a xanga entry…. embeeeding level os aint it or enough…I must work and i like no flavor if I’m to be picky.
Ialso am leary of blowing money on a replacement or parts for the other system as I mentioned I know it’s compromised. soin a way I found catch 22damned if I don’t or i do.l
I’ll sort this all out obviously and jap shop food was far more important as was a bottle of pinot gris….and beer.
… mmm beer.

i have a linux book but it’s from the 80′s or so,..hahaha! Hope you get it fixed right.
I can’t get the teas one to load, but I have a question for you…do you get your teas loose or in bags? And if in bags, are the packages they are wrapped in pretty? Reason for asking…I do tea bag folding, but haven’t seen many pretty ones here. So I thought if you had some and saved them for me, I’d swap you some pretty papers for some tea or something from here…maybe SC rice??? -P
japanese food… yummy
I don`t do linux since college days! hehe …
Go get sushi!
And Sake, please!
A wee bit o’ logic: If no Linux distribution is “fast enough” for you, the solution is not to be found on optical media.
@moniet - presently I was disappointed in run from a disc and noting nothing is stopping the grey outs which means that this machine is outright failing and I”ll be happy to limp it to it’s death without further extensive efforts. it is otherwise beyond my knowledge and reading to get it to behave in more stable limited form grey outs arenot from waiting to get operation info from a disc but clogging.
speaking of clogging, one of my pictures busted xanga’s editor badly as in I had limp from reloading the editor then the copy and paste of the page into edit html and then copy the next picture recopy the edit html reload page until it took too long between windows grey to get more done. I’ll have to delete the entry to the offending picture it’s likely the hansens diet soda one.
tea baggery. I get much of my tea in commercially made bags. I haven’t really made a tea bag save for loose leaf teas with coffee filter bunched together at the top and tied off with a paper wire tie like that for and from produce sections. when I’m not making enough tea to justify a coffee potting sin. I dislike the method of using an open seive/strainer in a bowl as i can’t keep the beverage hot. I am thus on the look out for kitchey single serve tea pots or as one of my hopeful potters puts it, a cup with a lid.
I am not thus into tea bag art ever so similar to origami which i admit to one thing… I can fold a paper star in card stock type thicker paper. I’ve a bit of fun that way having aonce wrote an entire litany of poems folding the star and seeing if it’d amuse the new yorker who is so good and I so bad at scrabble that she wont play me because i’m no challenge. yes to be beaten by a girl oh cooties.
the teas i’m yelping about are roland persimmon in a 2.5 oz tin. black. stassen 30g pure tea of ceylong mango flavored.. not sure if it’s black or green not that it matters in that flavor oh and it’s box/bag. twining brand box bag lapsang souchong tea which is smokey no where on the caliber of a hukwa but affordable delightful.. oddly enough though it’s annoying to get to the truth that precious few cents are the difference between lapsang tea in a bag and consumer grade loose tea hukwa. it’s just a question of shipping lol
as tea always was. I am after an assam most likely twining’s irish breakfast. and either a chai or black tea lemon…. just lemon otherwise it’d be earl grey bergamont citrus. I like that but again it’s easy to get out of hand with tea 15 bucks for store treasures could be 60 at a loose leaf perveyor.
my favorite loose leaf and general store of tea is
http://www.marktwendell.com/
this is a tea importer of boston lol boston tea PARTY. ah history.
some of my gifts this year were a nice autumn cranberry the other has yet to be risked lol
my favorite experience is the extra fancy grade formosa oolong which tastes so good instantly out of the pouch but never lasts in my containers turning back to boring grass oolong in less than a day but if you love teas have true air tight containers and can risk its price please be made aware i’ve bought it three times three even knowing it was crap the next day with my storage and it’s price because it is that good sinead o’connor now nothing compares too youuuuuu.
the hukwa in bags is nice if you’re ordering other items , I like their lapseng souchonng. irish breakfast, londn=on fruit and herb co fruit sampler oooo yum
other teas of the fancy pyramid kind are
harney and sons london probably which sells out of barns and nobel books and target stores bit pricey but cherry blossom gets the boys drinking the stuff with pleasure.
I like the lipton bavarian wild berry one it’s cold brewable to turn water yummy no sweet no proper tea making just a bag too many and slug and chug. the island mango is good I liked the strawberry passion one but it didn’t sell so no longer eists.
celestial seasonings, david rio tea- fuji apple, rupublicoftea ginger peach, island-rose.com, mummy’s passion rum vannila, andlong island cola. st dalfourchamomile,
and pick it up, james l pratt a tea lover’s treasury…. prefer the 81 edition but that’s the one I read and it had some things I liked described the way they were but time and sales
@MichellelyNg - yes ma”am,
it is.
@Sherrie_de_Valeria - lol but the saki spins the room
lol. yes ma’am.
@HappierHeathen - I would say no poop but I sense you like giving me just a bit of the business. yes duh non hard drive ooptions just are turtles but it did show that it’s the hardware failing not the software….well entirely you still think ill of canonical…or whatever it is. if that’s said, why waste money when a disc will get me online and higher power stuff I can get to a library for….at least till I can sus out what I’d like to do next which is probably savage again but have you any luck with fast embedded ARM thingo’s like pico itx say via or jetway boards in mini computer kits? I’m serious if it weren’t ease of size i really don’t need much above a phone’s computing ability anymore…. a mini computer would be rather nice if it recorded tv ran a few flash ports of say pacman or something internet streaming vid service… yeah yeah linux and silverlight I know already. but linux and pirate bay?
@starmanjones - I’ve got some minis around, but none of them candidates for replacing my desktop machine. My web/mail/DNS/etc. server is actually a mini, an Eeebox, and it performs quite satisfactorily in that role. I’d never even consider running X on it, though. It came with Ubuntu installed, and I toyed with it for a few minutes before overwriting it. It was pathetically underwhelming.
I’ve heard the name pirate bay but don’t know what it is. Sorry ’bout that.
@HappierHeathen - lol the name of the site is the dreaded peer to peer copyright lawsuit bonanza site of Sweden that one that survived lawsuit and is still up where in one can get all manner of dubiously legal items of media…. hence its name the pirate bay.
for instance I got a copy incomplete I add of a movie I own legally called the man without a past. I was happy to get a little preview prior to blowing money on the unknown. or it was beyond my interest to transfer 40 gb’s information which is the size of avi style era transfers of every disney feature film through cars. I also owned every single vhs of that collection courtesy of a very short time where one could FIND them via pawn shops and or thrift stores. as I’m allowed a copy for archival purposes, I neither bent nor broke or infringed on the spirit of the laws…or fairly obtained a spreiview and purchased the items desired. fan-subs of anime are even more quasi legal but as their not distributed for sale they are left alone…save for proof of market interest for pro distribution. an example now on youtube is the circa 78 japanese anime “Galaxy Express 999″ which was a movie badly dubbed into English that ran on adult swim cartoon network circa 2004 I liked the actual show which in 08 was 11 episodes to 16 ish long not but a part of the original run. different site same limewire please just gimme a virus peer to peer transfer system. only now it is bit torrent whatever time marches along.
I converted to linux in the first place only because of this all too common “your computer is at risk
pop up that never went away. it thus waited patiently til you paid xx.95 to have it removed. thus as my brother had tossed my legal copy of windows into the box that never is tossed nor opened, and it was 150 bucks in 08 for windows or linux. i got ubuntu 8.04. that time meant java games like those on the site pogo.com never worked period and flash games of early fb and later myspace were hit and miss. I gained rockstar security lost fluff.
fluff like closetmaid.com cool then but windows only designer program. as I fairly noted this my sister immediately and only wanted to visit those sites and pooped all over worthless linux. I read how to tweek flash and java settings and tried half heartedly ONCE it failed or was worse than the stable never worked versions.
skip ahead to free computers when I was even broker and the same problem plagues me relentlessly since the first try at linux till now. every nice computer can alternatingly run from hd or cd/dvd drive but bios which is typically only windows flashable never includes the usb key fanciness that while still slow is? the key to a forever easy working something or easy as shit painfree replacement of busted bobbles.
11.04 ran flash and java both thus pogo.com flawlessly enough I had one fail in ten to load a game. the only bugger was sound files with drm’s not loading when they just flippin worked! and thus the era of ripping off the world was still there but now harder this required an upgrape of this or that package and I helped this artist guy at least organize his crap in an online form.
so, despite one permissions workabout in 8.04 where in in real time I could delete a tracking cookie thus spam the shit out of craigslist against their policies for my personal but limited profit… linux remains competitive to me in that it works far smoother but it’s times when it isn’t automatic are hellish to me I read and try and lazy or not intelligent or not find it more than enough to let truthfully replace windows but lord mac’s are a dreamy prize…but till then, it always comes done to one bobble I do not own when it’s time to repair them linux in my experience is not streamlined for me dealing with initial repairs nor upgrading back to working machines.
Thank you for some other informative site. Where else may just I am getting that kind of information written in such a perfect means? I’ve a mission that I’m simply now running on, and I have been at the look out for such info.
within those comments was a wise Linux user. I was not that person happier heathan was. lol but I’m glad you liked what you read. it is nice to know It got said because sometimes Linux is all there is or all there is desirable.
