Day 3 of my first week on the job is in the can.  This was the first day I was left to do so solo.  The reward is that….well there are many rewards and they are first and foremost that I CAN perform my tasks comprehensively and cohesively, I have a limited ability to adapt within the limits of what i was taught are allowed, I’ve some sense of an ability to say both yes and NO and it is honoured, and duh, I actually have a paying JOB of the Real variety for the first time – time card included – in 12 years.  The largest worries  of safety, required reporting as well as the tasks needing doing to be reported upon, andhow tofloat at least withing about the cattiest line of work ever – medical arent gone but at least they are addressed so they are a concern like any other.  I can help people’s older loved ones enjoy activities  while also constructively monitoring and providing that non-precisely medical care.  I am today an activities assistant.  The rest of the stuff is in process…as in how to do it both right and better….you know, as i’m there longer.

First night: heh, visit mom’s house and get home late and in a robe… how to punish adults…keep them up past their bed time and dress them up funn…  I have a pair of slacks in process of being altered to actually fit correctly :D

yesterday’s highlight was pick and mix beer.  I tried wynkoop brewing company’s b3k black lager which was acceptable – as “black beers” it’s still murphy”s irish stout, negro modello, dechuette’s blackbutte, fullsail brewing black label and fuiness i mean i do like it just not paramount and now wynkoop’s b3k.  the other beers on the list in the pick and mix were hoegaarden, redd’s apple ale, sapporo, breckenridge vanilla porter and sierra nevada’s pale ale.

tonight’s joy was chinese – buck a scoop – and i am stuffed  chicken in black pepper sauce with steamed rice a diet coke and egg role with the hot mustard.  mom got hong kong chicken which is closer to sweet and sour chicken but of course not exactly with vegetable fried rice and  the coke and egg rp;;/.

the funniest thing that happened at work today was the fam of one visited complete with teenaged grand daughter… what day is it? bingo.  what do i play for?  hugs.  but lucky me today i had hokey prizes too.  so after impossible trivia bingo I call a number and  let’s see if you can guess what happened.  ”aw, geez.” is sounded to which momma looks over and laughs beating me to guessing what happened which is?

daughter got bingo…aww geez – a hug’s coming :D heheheheheheh…. there are days my cantankerous souls delights in playing bingo because the “win”  is whoopee wheeeee i get a ….HUG. say thiat sarcastically now :D

  • Now had my grandma been there, it would’ve been a different story……..

J.: Hey, we’re all gonna play for hugs!

Grand Kathrine: Honey! This is Bullroy!! Where the hell are everyone’s nickels? Damnitalltohell!

J: You don’t want to hug me?

GK: Oh! Well, why didn’t ya say so in the first place!!

Naturally, after the young girl wins, my grandma would trample her in order to get a hug. After her reward, she would say:

    GK: Honey, do you dance?

Your job’s cake, J.! (You know I’m teasing you, right?) RIGHT?!!

  • Very cool about the job . And it sounds like you enjoy it so that’s a very good thing. *hugs all around* peace

  • @Kellsbella - You would see shades of your grandmother within one there I know :D   Just catching her in a more lucid moment is quite quite fun.  it is truly like playing jane from “Waiting for God” someone youtubed it finally

  • @peacenow - :)  I begin to.  I am unused to routine and this is becoming one…..routines are so much a part of life’s comforts after impetuous where’s the beer/party age :D .  :D hint I’m not 20 something nowhere really close :D  so much so i love bedeviling those who look forward to ultimate freedom as I beg for a rut to get stuck in stella’s new groove.
