  • I have a gift of a New to me laptop, my mother’s old one.  it is pictured above an Asus k501.  I’ts a nice gift which you can see on it’s bottom edge just right of center is a spot for reading sd cards, precisely what my new camera and most modern camera’s use.  It’s a joy to have something that works :D – thank you mom.

I was Unsuccessful in solving it’s forever “glitch” of randomly selecting deleting/ garbling text.  I’m glad to see that

I have an Asus K501 bought a couple months ago at local
best buy store .. have noticed that my cursor tends to “jump” from the text I am
typing and go to “wherever”, maybe even at the beginning of the sentence I just
typed! Is this a problem with the touchpad sensitivity also? It’s freaking
aggravating and frustrating!!!! Is anyone else having this problem w/ their
cursor?? BTW, first and LAST Asus laptop!! HP is the way to go!!

File this under “misery likes company.”  Having exact
same problem and have read all the forum notes.  It is amazing that Asus has not
done anything.  I have a K70I and it is a great laptop in every way but the
pad.  I liked the description of someone earlier. I feel like I have a Ferrari
with the steering of a Twingo.  Hoping Asus does something to solve
    this.

in short- the problem whatever it is is NOT just mine and not ever solved two model points down the line and 2 years nearly later.  My best solution was to be consistantly typing and never ever rest your hands or wrists oneart the pad – this is not 100% effective but cuts down on the annoying occurances…meaning the pad is mounted in such a way that it’s sensitive to the flex of hands on the wrist wrest…

I was pleased to see some poor soul take it to best buy or whereever and find out it worked just FINE there with them not fixing the problem and upselling them on a “surge protector” which grounds to the wall yet the computer plug is itself ungrounded…lol…wouldn’t solve anything but more cash for best buy :D …  anyone ever get that kind of tech support?

it seems though the best way to resolve this annoyance…remember joshy needs zero help being less clear in his typing …. is to turn off the touchpad and use tabs or mouse.

I’m still! considering baking bread from scratch today.  there is something earthy about doing the steps from earlier in the processes.    I made a hash of my omelet this morning though and thus RUSTIC SCRAMBLED EGGS damn it :D   oops. so it’s is conceived to consider a project garunteed to make a mess when you already made one.    but if I do

    pigs-in-a-blenket?

    or

    cream cheese chicken spinach pinwheel

    net stolen examples

    or

first picture the public school lunch perennial favorite and the second a close approzimation of a pinwheel in this case cream turkey spinach pinwheel – wherein the silling seems to be incorporated in the bread not in between it….no no no! :D

Remember, I may end up doing squat nothing and slapping in a digiorno

  • Have you tried using a mouse and disabling the pad?

  • @Roadkill_Spatula - at present this inbelieve me- one is apt to get gun shy when stant, NO. but I have access to one and will.  I simply wish to re up on how to disable not delete drivers. I hate having to find and install new ones in a day where they always seem to come prepackaged with babylon toolbar which is an annoying mother fucker to delete and remember to remove oh crap have to click around it agggghhhh!. :D

one is apt to get gunshy when this computer use thing is computers lasting less than a year…the bastards are not cheap! :D

  • looks like a nice laptop, I’ve been thinking of getting one for myself.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - best deal lo – they last well, they’re easy for a blind guy to replace the keyboard/ hard drivengevity is toshiba satelite series machines.  I myself can replace the oem keyboard 30 clams ish , the hard drive 7break from kitty play oopses.  thus last fairly well from most considerations of use for less than five hundred ish if you’re able to catch a deal.   0 ish, and know a video game tech who can fix the ac in jack should it

  • Yay for moms.  Did you bake the bread?  I’m at work and hungry

  • @songoftheheart - it all of a sudden became dark and I realized I hadn’t  whoops but I made a fine salami sandwich!  want one?

  • Awesome you got a new to you lap top! I’ve never had a lap top and only fiddled with one a couple of times. The touch pads are weird… I think If I got a lap top I’d buy a mouse anyway. peace & smiles

  • sixty four direction switch that was remarkably smooth – pity they didn’t keep the design but then again I didn’t buy the gadget hmn :D

  • I have a Tosh something or other and this one is better about keeping the cursor under my control. The one annoying thing it can do if I’m too quick is it’ll resize the screen. Why I ever bothered with desk tops or towers is crazy (though, probably price factored into the decision on which to purchase). Laptops are great. // hotdogs wrapped in dough, yum. Bake some bread for Mom. :)
