the blue and yellow shield now is all I saw blinking

this is what java looks like…java update available….blah blah and this time it WASN”T it was

live security platinum – sound like at least an annoying microsoft product windows live?

nicely offering you mafia like protection for 59.99 for one year to have your computer back or a bit of a discount for longer!  you’ll quickly not be about to start taskmanager, sound control and google search – sure you’ll load a page after a few clicks of the continue unprotected. but it stalled on google looking up?  you guessed it live security platinum ;)

    wel:

I have google talk plugin running in firefox 3.5 this means i can dial out again.  never have figured out how to get calls in.  either system

I can play all myshitty facebook games I like.

youtube vids play WITH sound again

I can visit my pages fast enough.

it took four hours down from 8 last time to totally reinstall a new operating system and write this as it’s tested to work.  it took 16 the time before that and a pile of cash, and the time before that it worked great but took me six months to figure out how to get flash to work.  interestingly, even though I’ve nobody to play pogo.com games with I noticed last machine that the java script works…unlike last 8.x version of my first install.  I know I have to upgrade to copy music upfront but that’s not something I care about for now.

there.  I’m back after doing a dumb dumb.  ;)

  • Argh!!! Malware of the worse sort!!! I got that about 2 years ago. That or something very similar. I tiptoe around many things and have no idea how I got it. A system restore sort of helped (which I did immediately) but that computer was always slower afterwards. A totally reinstall is scary to me. Heh. I hope all is well now. peace & smiles

  • @peacenow - considering linux works out of the box well yeah,  plus I’ve used it before so it isn’t a huge shock.and you note I’m here! :D

  • Enjoy your player.
    Remember to update Java
    and software updates
    i.e. Firefox,
and Flash, so sites like FaceBook
    work, as does YouTube.

    Quite touchy YouTube
is, with up to date player
    demands.  Now FaceBook
    is more lax.  Java
    maintains itself.  And Google
    does not need updates.

    Update your updates,
and thing are smooth with YouTube,
    groovy with Google.
    Why Real player
man?  I can jive with Java
    and fathom FaceBook…

    even bloody FaceBook,
    with their random updates.
    I thank God Java
    -script is now “default”.  YouTube
    is fussy with Flash player
    versions.  Not Google.

    Contended, Google
    is, as is bloody FaceBook,
    with all the player
    related updates
    being hid; unlike YouTube
    and unlike Java.

    Update crazed Java.
Why can’t it be like Google
    and not like YouTube?
    Hell, even FaceBook
    is cool about their updates
    …uhhhh… like a player…?

    Thus ends this rant on
    an update centric IT.
    When it’s strayed, upgrade.

    :P
