guess work
if you don’t consume tobacco, good for you. If you do and you, like me, think it’s time to tone that down yet the previous will to do so isn’t working?

hair brained schemes commence!
I’m told I can’t ta with a ke whatever that chantex stuff as it’s not a great idea with my kidney issues.
I get ill with the correct for me patch of step first the huge patch..yes after under but close to a pack a day for years 18 I still get ill with 4mg/24hour patches, the correct first step in the patch system. I also have no desire NOT to smoke…shhh, I know that’s a doublenegative and it is purposeful.
cold turkey can last anywhere from 1 – 69 hours
smoking lesser nicotine containing cigarrettes is a mixed bag of results:
american spirits sure do burn slower than say a marlboro/camel/winston BUT the 1.1mg/nicotine of a marlboro/camel/winston red to an american spirit yellow pack’s 0.7mg nicotine just isn’t enough and fuck the ultralights- I turn those lil cotton butt-ends black
gum is on par with the big patch, it makes me ill and as added disencentive – it taste like vile.
so, pipe smoking. going grandpa *or in this case, great grandpa.
http://www.starscientific.com/404/Fagerstrom%20The%20nicotine%20Market.pdf shows me in a quick scan that pip smoking is roughly 1g product to 1.5mg’s absorbed nicotine. or a 1.75 oz… yes the purposeful numbers confusion is shown oz/mg…. because 28.3g is the av. ounce or 16oz./lb scale by which tobacco is sold so ~35 grams is my lil half now gone pipe tobacco pouch and I’ve saved myself imprecisely just over 2 packs of cigarettes and thus simple guestimation shows I’ve INCREASED nicotine intake…oo backsliding.
but I have managed in one stroke to save myself 5 dollars already. yes, a whole five dollars … in reality the pipe cost something too so I really saved nothing
as is what truly happens or this wouldn’t be a hair-brained scheme! if you’d like information on nicotine content you’ll have to hunt for it- I already have in years past and there is variation in formulation as is required by patent / copyright law and to goose up sales… it’s unlikely to alter terrifically much. next, if you’d like information on how marlboro cigarettes have been known to be processed with ammonia, camel’s squareol *a portion of the clary sage essential oil. – winston’s supposedly no additional additives yet! all tobacco is 25% post consumer content or thereabouts or all the old tobacco is put back in a giant tank and made to smell like tobacco again driet out and shaved back into tobacco…i.e. the tank may not have “any additional additives other than tobacco…” but what came before is already there you can hunt this and more information like how it is n where near impossible to obtain flavored cigarettes like clove or those fancy orange mint camels…but it is currently illegal in the usa to sell them so you must import them..you can dig this crap up for yourself- it’s five pages ofknown additives that have or once did flavor tobacco and I’d bet you money only the cherry bubble gum orange and known to us flavors are banned but not all the list. not by a long shot. certainly not ammonia to break down the blood brain barrier making nicotine far more addictive oh lord no, but cherry smokes, the kid’s ‘ll smoke those gotta ban them
;)now, thank you for allowing me to write this allll out and see that I’m a goof when i thought i was brilliant. and perhaps I’ll take to a pip – it ultimately is classy as vices go, and it in the short term reduces the nicotine intake as i can go longer without a puff than before while this isn’t surprising really as I can go a day without cigarettes fairly easily already even though i don’t want to admit that aloud.
smokeless cigarettes:
the most powerful “carton’ of cigarettes is the 35 mg vial of smokeless whatever it is. a carton is 200 cigarettes which I’ve point out are 1.1mg each or 220mg in a carton, nicotine. who the fuck lied to YOU? smokeless e0cigarette advertising! ;) if you find it difficult to get that nicotine “fix” perhaps this lil bit of math will show you why. 1/7th? I will point out that these things will ease the craving SOME and you will in time ease your intake. and? the upshot is the things are wicked cool – you can smoke them anywhere as they legally aren’t tobacco, but please don’t be a fucktard about proving the point…you aren’t likely to bring a legal team in your pocket and likely also don’t have the best credability to win at being anything but a jackass.
oh, and while i can’t do a lot of algebra, I am capable of basic math and still am able to perform such. while the above isn’t meant to win me a prize in arithamatic, I do expect it to prove the point that there should be a lil mathmatic basis for decisions…

I’m thinking of trying the ecigs too – I understand you can get different amounts of nicotine, I suppose like light, ultra light etc….I can’t do the patches though, the bandage is made of latex and I’m allergic to that
I smoked a pipe for a year or so in college, but like Clinton, I didn’t inhale. It smelled great (I smoked a sweet Cavendish that smelled of vanilla, called Sunflower Blend, which was a house blend from a Lawrence, KS smoke shop), but when I visited my family dentist on a trip to Colombia, he said, “Have you taken up smoking?” I quit right after that.
My pipe had a filter in the stem that had to be changed frequently. It made me realize what kind of gunk I was sucking into my mouth. Yuck.
I worked a couple of college summers for a moving company. One guy smoked a pipe and did inhale. His teeth were brown and eroded from the smoke. He didn’t smoke Sunflower Blend either; his tobacco smelled as bad as cigarette smoke. If it was a rainy day, four of us would be packed into the cab with the windows up… and the other three smoking.
Nowadays I have little tolerance for smoke. If I ever visit you, we can chat outdoors or in a nonsmoking restaurant.
@mlbncsga - I liked the joye I got it was a copper with purple led with a manual switch… now they have even sexier cool models! http://www.joyetech.com/product/
@Roadkill_Spatula -
you realize my state is all non smoking…yes increasingly to the point this means anywhere but your house or car. … I’m unused to being able to smoke anywhere
this means i’m only equivalently wet dog smelling …damp.
Texas is mostly nonsmoking, but I ran into a smoking restaurant on a visit elsewhere. Maybe it was the Carolinas?
By the way, I did manage to make it through your entire post. Not every word, but at least all the paragraphs.
@Roadkill_Spatula - lol, I noticed! gold star!
i ran into more smoking allowed in wyoming than anywhere….however, it is culturally more acceptable to simply say I’m not a smoker the only way this works for us both is you outside and otherwise not smoking
… that didn’t fly in the 50′s it should have.
Having smoked for years and then gone cold turkey I can tell you it wasn’t easy. Very informative blog. I have a friend who was a heavy smoker and has gone the ecig route. He is very happy with the change and so am I. I have alway hated the smell of cigs and kissing someone who smoke is simply DISGUSTING!!! I’ve been researching ecigs for my marijuana use. I normally consume the product in brownie or candy form, but think this may be the way to get it into my system a little quicker. The jury is still out. LOL… Well done…
The e-cig “juice” labeled 35mg is not 35mg/vial, it’s 35mg/ml. Huge difference, and the math works out just fine.
@starmanjones - thanks for the link, very informative
@Roadkill_Spatula - maybe you were in Alabama, you can do most anything you want in Alabama
@mlbncsga - I’ll remember that next time I go to Alabama.
Be a total asshole for 3 or so days and quit cold turkey. It’s the only way. Do it. Get over it. Warn your loved ones first. Then don’t smoke again else they won’t be loved ones for very long if you keep up the yo-yoing and quitting again, thereby becoming a total asshole again for 3 days. But yes, I support you. Quit.
I’ll be your friend (only I’ll stay out of your way for the next 3 days). Loves.
Good luck with toning it down a notch or two. I smoked Salems for two weeks during my teen years and stopped because I didn’t care for how it made my clothing and hair smell. (I’m girly like that). I know it’s not easy for some. Wishing you the best.
The cost alone would keep me from smoking, but then, I’ve never smoked cigarettes. Pipes smell wonderful! I had two uncles who were pipe smokers.
@HappierHeathen - I do not doubt you. however, essestial oils sales tells me there are scientifically10-15 drops per ml I find a drop is a cigarette’s worth to 2 drops. thus 15 drops per ml would have your figure at 2 cigarrettes to 3 per use… I have never had that kind of rush…. nor have I ever been able to find documented evidence of what you just said. I do not doubt you but I would like a source on that. please?
@mlbncsga - lol, not according to “top gear” driving through on an episode. (they pranked the cars with slogans that offended the locals)
@Roadkill_Spatula - afine photographer @C_L_O_G lives roughly in that area… you’ll have an education!!! don’t forget to mention I still love his gifts of snaps
@sleekpunk - I may have to but lol. thank you.
@LastStopCrazyTown - just do not want to fail an over-ridding goal, I would like pure mean spiritedness to out do my dad for health available at 50 yes, walk a grocery store twice and then not bitch ata 15 minute wait in line…. this goal requires continual rededication, it isn’t a failure if I do not have such luck but
just because and for the orneryness….
@songoftheheart - they’re murder on the parts that absorb… but mmm I also remember my great grandfather viscerally that way.
@starmanjones - I buy my raw materials from ecigexpress where it is labeled as xmg/ml. The stuff I mix up at 22-24mg/ml has brought me several nicotine buzzes because the flavor (caramel and vanilla) is so darn compelling. I’ve learned to put the lava tube down before that happens because I don’t like the rattly buzz of nicotine.
@HappierHeathen -
thanks. I may bring my ecig out of retirement. lol gas station work. its a living. you like clerk?
@HappierHeathen - http://e-cigexpress.com/blog/how-many-cigarettes-is-this-e-liquid/ lists the most comprehensive info on the subject yet, none of this shit was search / find 2 years ago…
you are to be congratulated on having good intelligence.
So.. you were getting more nicotine from the pipe? My grandfather smoked a pipe. I think a pipe smells better than cigarettes. Some pipe tobacco smells quite nice. I have a friend who is waffling between the e-cig and smoking. She seems to switch back and forth. I don’t really ask her why. peace & smiles
@peacenow - I would have said certainly from a difference in nicotine absorbtion…but happily heathen seems to scientificially indicate otherwise. so hmn.
@starmanjones -
Thanks! It’s just doing one’s homework, which can be a terribly daunting task in such a monstrously huge library as the web. I kinda went nuts about it, got myself a lava tube with a battery that lasts all day and a tank type cartomizer that holds 5ml of liquid which gets me through four days or so between refills, so it seemed important to know what was what before buying enough material to make more than a gallon of the liquid for it.
I actually enjoyed working in the gas station, enough that several years ago I took a “hobby job” working in a local liquor store two nights per week just for the entertainment value of it. Everybody is happy to see the liquor store clerk at the end of a long day of work.
@HappierHeathen - daunting indeed, I have a 3 try policy for the internet searching with a rouge 4th maybe and I couldn’t find a damn thing that said what you did when I bought mine …and remember its the smallest notions that make the magic.
I couldn’t instantl substatute so it leads to a whole lot of chaged opinions;)
I’m half tempted to do as you hobby woork again. I’m not rich thus a few dolars will help…hobbies.
I may have to work up a case of sexy confident and apply 9 interviews.
@starmanjones - I’m fortunate that a big part of my job is grokking search engines and I’ve been doing it since before there was a Google. It helps, I think.
There’s a lot to be said for approaching any job as a hobby, one that matters but that’s still just a hobby. It’s far too big a subject to be elucidated here, but it seems that within certain boundaries the more irreverent I am the happier I am, the more money I make, and the easier it is to be both joyful and prosperous. It could all come crashing down tomorrow, but in the grand scheme of things, what might one person do that can’t?
good lord, child! talk about starting a fire
27 comments, or 14 . not bad. good topic, too *runs out door for a clove* i’m kidding, i actually forgot to smoke at all yesterday. drinking some vino, that is always remembered
@HappierHeathen - hehehe be pretty,
@Bels_Kaylar - I walked by the vinos and got what turned out no one’s desire, a big old clug of evan williams. seems everyone had met him too often and had the queezy lok no thank you.
that means there is a great chance it’ll last. however I got some soup that will require vino for proper enjoyment. loaded type baked potato which I remember working with a moscato.. and a butter nut squash that is sweet as it is which can be a reisling.
