For All The Grills I’ve Lit Before:

For All the grills I’ve lit before
    Eye-candy or so much-much more
    Brisket roasted all night long
    patience now, t’won’t be long
from any o’the grills I’ve lit before

    Next to the hibachi-I’m incensed!
soaked me last lighter fluid- what a mess.
what the bow-how am I to do now?
storm and row? pan-fry the cow?
more dishes, oh so many MORE?

wood smoke o’er coals ever glowin’
    each memory morsel stowed away
hours of ashes-still it’s not slowin’
heartburn, my friend, is on its way

to the new grill of my life
    seasons trouble-free, without strife?
    today’s dream of dining tomorrow
let’s work together for no sorrow
for you, shiny grill through my door

for the kettle one of my past adored
who tipped over dinner to my floor
    oh you of metal heart
all over poorer, I must restart
thank you, for our nights that roared.

    gas flames now a roarin’
    story book chicken satays
    champagne, skewers and laughter rollin’
    new seasons coming my way.

For All the grills I’ve lit before
    Eye-candy or so much-much more
    ’round roasted all night long
    patience now, t’won’t be long
from any o’the grills I’ve lit before

For All the grills I’ve lit before
    Eye-candy or so much-much more
    thighs smokin’ all night long
    patience now, t’won’t be long
from any o’the grills I’ve lit before
